Award for Yarmouth church’s community work
A Great Yarmouth church has been presented with an award for providing thousands of hot meals to people in need during the Covid pandemic.
Lady Agnew presented a blue plaque to Richard Baker at Kingsgate Community Church, Great Yarmouth, to commemorate their work producing and delivering 16,000 hot meals during the pandemic to people in need in the community.
Lady Agnew said, “Lady Dannatt has asked me, as a deputy lieutenant on behalf of the Queen, to thank you all for your hard work during the pandemic. To celebrate this I am presenting you with a plaque as a permanent commemoration of your efforts”
The presentation took place on Wednesday 18 May. Simon Head, Church Administrator, said, “During the pandemic it was so wonderful to be able to help so many people in need around us through the provision of hot meals, and we are delighted to receive a plaque from Lady Agnew in recognition of this.”
Kingsgate Community Church is located at the Kings Centre, 30 Queen Anne’s Road, Great Yarmouth, NR31 0LE.
