What is the weather forecast for Norfolk this weekend?

It comes after a week of weather warnings with flash flooding and lightning strikes being reported across Norfolk. 

A Met Office spokesman said ahead of the weekend: “Friday will be initially dry and cloudy but outbreaks of rain will soon arrive and push westwards.

“It will remain cloudy throughout the afternoon with temperatures reaching 16C.”

Yellow weather warnings for thunderstorms were issued for three days running this week, with Greater Anglia announcing that train services had to be delayed because of “severe weather”.

He added: “High pressure will start to build across the region on Saturday, with much of Norfolk staying dry with warm sunny spells after a rather cloudy start.

“However, clouds may well linger near the coast for much of the day and wind speeds will exceed 22mph in some places.

“Sunday promises another cloudy start, particularly in the east.

“Sunny spells will start developing again, but it will turn cloudy later with rain arriving from the west late in the day.”

Temperatures in Norwich are set to peak at 18C on Sunday, with highs of 14C in Cromer and 19C in Thetford.
