Meet Yarmouth’s new Salvation Army leader
The Salvation Army in Great Yarmouth has a new leader – Territorial Envoy Alison James, who started in the post on 30 January.
Ali, from Thetford, said she is very much looking forward to moving into her new leadership of the church and charity in the town from her previous role in publishing.
Ali has significant experience in helping communities. She explained: “For the past 11 years, I have been involved in setting up and managing Thetford Food Bank, and I have worked latterly at the Salvation Army there supporting the homeless and needy.”
She says she is passionate about working together with other Christians and the wider community to see the incredible changes that faith in Christ brings about. She commented: “In the current financial crisis there is much work that needs to be done and I’m keen to get my sleeves rolled up to help continue on the great work that’s been such a support to the community in the town and the wider area both spiritually and practically.
Ali is married to Ray and they have two grown-up sons, Glen and Philip.
