Criminals jailed in Norfolk week starting November 13, 2023

Three men have been sentenced to prison for their involvement in drug-related crimes in Norfolk, UK. Benjamin Macann, 34, was arrested in Bulgaria after being on the run for nearly two years. He was found to be involved in a sophisticated drug operation that included multiple drug drops around the county, totaling in a value of approximately £155,000. Macann was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the supply of cocaine. Paul Cordiner, 44, was charged and found guilty of supplying cannabis and cocaine. He was sentenced to four and a half years in prison for his involvement in the supply of cocaine between June 1, 2021, and December 24, 2021. Darnay Alexander, 27, was arrested in London in connection with an attack in Norwich. During his arrest, officers found heroin and cocaine, as well as a phone containing bulk messages advertising drugs for sale in Norwich. He was sentenced to two and a half years in prison for his involvement in the making an offer to supply class A drugs, heroin, and cocaine, as well as possession of heroin and cocaine.

Benjamin Macann, 34, from Beetley near Dereham, was on the run for almost two years before he was arrested in a shopping mall car park in Bulgaria. He was wanted by detectives investigating a sophisticated drugs operation that saw large amounts of cocaine brought into Norfolk. Text messages detailing multiple drug drops around the county were retrieved, including one worth around £155,000. After being found in Bulgaria, Macann was flown back to the UK to appear at Norwich Magistrates’ Court, where he was remanded into custody. He appeared at Norwich Crown Court for sentencing, admitting to the supply of cocaine between April 1, 2020, and January 15, 2021. He was subsequently jailed for ten years for his involvement in the drug operation.

Paul Cordiner, 44, from Sawtry in Cambridgeshire, was found with a rucksack containing drug dealing items, including a mobile phone. He was later charged with supplying cannabis and cocaine and was ultimately found guilty of being concerned in the supply of cocaine between June 1, 2021, and December 24, 2021. As a result, he was sentenced to four and a half years in prison. Darnay Alexander, 27, was arrested at his home in London and found in possession of heroin and cocaine, as well as a phone containing bulk messages advertising drugs for sale in Norwich. He admitted two counts of being concerned in the making of an offer to supply class A drugs, heroin, and cocaine, and two counts of possession of heroin and cocaine. For his involvement in these crimes, he was sentenced to two and a half years in prison.
