David Wagner’s men have lost their last four games on the road and five of their last seven matches in all competitions. Halting that run is the priority for City’s head coach.

Despite that, victory this afternoon would likely lift Norwich back into the top six – defeat would see the Sky Blues leapfrog them and continue their slide down the Championship table.
A 2-1 defeat to Swansea in midweek saw City return to Norfolk with an overwhelming sense of frustration having worked some good opportunities to win the game in the second half. Individual errors proved costly in South Wales.
Norwich will once again be without Spanish winger Borja Sainz due to a setback in his return to full fitness whilst on U21 duty last weekend. Young defender Jaden Warner has returned from illness but won’t make the matchday squad.
Wagner is boosted by a training return for midfielders Marcelino Nunez and Jacob Sorensen but both will be handed the international break to build up their reserves before returning to the Championship frontline.
Ashley Barnes is scheduled to be back next month whilst Josh Sargent and Grant Hanley are both working towards a 2024 return.
Coventry are contending with an injury crisis of their own and Mark Robins is set to be without a host of midfield options for this afternoon’s clash.
Ben Sheaf (adductor tear), Liam Kelly (hamstring), Callum O’Hare (knee) and Fabio Tavares (Achilles) are all expected to miss City’s visit to the CBS Arena whilst Kasey Palmer and Milan van Ewijk will be late calls after returning to training on Friday.
Robins has attempted to change the Sky Blues’ playing philosophy after losing Gustavo Hamer and Viktor Gyokeres in the summer window. Coventry were defeated by Luton Town in the play-off final back in May.
Whilst they have reinvested money into the likes of Haji Wright and Ellis Simms, it has taken time for the new additions to gel. That is beginning to happen and Coventry have won consecutive matches against QPR and Blackburn.
Norwich have won the last three meetings with Coventry away from home. The Sky Blues’ last home win over the Canaries arrived in August 2008 with Elliott Ward and Leon McKenzie scoring in a 2-0 victory.
