Norwich City: Birmingham City boss John Eustace on Championship clash
The Blues’ strong start to the season has tailed off in recent weeks, with no wins in their last four matches.
Eustace insists he’s been happy with performances regardless, and believes his men can beat any side in the Championship at present.
“I’m confident whoever we play against,” he said. “This group of players are a confident group, and you can see that we’ve done well up to now throughout the season.
“Whoever we’ve played against, home or away, we’ve always been very competitive and we’ve been in the game.
“It’s important that we go there full of confidence and see where it takes us.
“Defensively we need to be very strong, this league is relentless. We also want to play some exciting attacking football too.
“We are growing, there have been some really positive signs, but first and foremost we have to be hard to play against.”
The last of those four winless games was a 0-0 draw with relegation-threatened Queens Park Rangers, but that doesn’t concern the former Watford and Derby County midfielder. His side are currently 10th in the Championship, and are keen to revive their form against the struggling Canaries.
“Performances have been very good, all different types of performances as well,” he continued. “We haven’t won in four games now, with two draws and two defeats, but you can see everything that we’re doing is right.
“It’s very important that we believe in the process and keep going, because there’s a lot of positive signs to be taken from those performances, as for the rest of the season up to now.
“The lads have looked great [in training]. The confidence is very high, the training has been superb, and we’re looking forward to the next three or four games.”
