Norwich struck a late Deadline Day deal with Sunderland to bring Batth to Carrow Road on a free transfer after Andrew Omobamidele moved to Nottingham Forest in a deal that could rise to £20million.
Batth has 300 second-tier games to bring to City’s squad and is hoping to draw on his extensive knowledge to help David Wagner’s side.
“I have experience of the league and I can offer that to the group. I’m a consistent worker,” Batth told City’s official channels.
“I work very hard and I like to think I have a positive influence on players in the dressing room – young players in particular – hopefully I can bring that to the Norwich shirt and do well while I’m here.
“I’m proud to have the opportunity to represent the club. It’s a club that I’ve played against a lot in my time, and I know what the players here are in the building to do. It’s an opportunity to be a part of that, and I’m looking forward to the progress on the pitch.
“I spoke to the manager. He said a lot of things that I liked. I think I can a good part of what they are building at the club.”
Norwich had to act quickly to bring Batth to Carrow Road, even requesting a 15 minute extension to finalise his deal.
The paperwork was sent to the authorities at 11.15pm on Deadline Day – with an announcement coming two hours later.

He was in Rotherham to watch City’s first Championship defeat at the New York Stadium on Saturday and has recapped a frenetic few days before moving to Norfolk.
“It was a busy day. Obviously, as soon as I heard of the interest, it made sense for me to come and be a part of what the club are building here.
“I was in Birmingham on Friday night, then I had to travel back to Sunderland – I had a kids party as well to throw into the mix,” the defender said.
“Then the journey from Sunderland down to Norwich via a few diversions so it’s not been too busy but there’s been a little bit going on.”
