Norwich church set to stage toy swap event
Oak Grove Community Church in Norwich is hosting a toy swap event to help families reduce the financial burden of Christmas. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, November 15 from 9:30-11:30am at the church located at 70 Catton Grove Road, NR3 3NT. Families are encouraged to bring clean, pre-loved toys and books in good condition to swap for something else. Refreshments will also be provided during the event. Family Support Worker Lynette Woodward expressed that the cost of buying presents for children during the holidays can be overwhelming for parents, and the toy swap event aims to alleviate some of that burden and bring some fun to the process.
Toys and books for ages 0-11 years are welcome, and participants can bring a toy and choose one in return, or bring multiple toys to swap for an equal number. Toys with batteries are accepted, but not those that are electrical. Any leftover toys will be donated to Oak Grove Community Church Charity Shop. Donations of toys and books can be dropped off at the church on Tuesday, November 14 from 9:30am-12pm, or from 8:45am on November 15. For further information, individuals can visit the church’s website or contact Lynette at [email protected] or 07307 882340.
