Dereham church discusses debt over a haggis

Dereham’s CAP Debt Centre raised over £400 by hosting a Burns Night recently at Dereham Baptist Church.

The evening on, on Friday January 20, included traditional Burns Night festivities such as piping in the haggis; songs and poems written by Robert Burns; along with “Toast to the Lassies and Laddies”.

Those present also thought of the struggles of poverty reflected in some of his poems. A CAP client talked about how CAP has helped her on her journey towards freedom from debt and refreshed her awareness of who Jesus is. A great night was had by all … perhaps except for the haggis.
