Acle ecumenical walkers pray for workers
Acle Churches Together has held its traditional annual prayer walk, stopping at various venues in the village to pray for the work performed by the staff employed within.
The walk, on Sunday June 12, was led by Church of England Rector, Rev Martin Greenland, accompanied by Methodist Minister, Rev Andrew King plus Catholic Deacon Rev Peter Glanville.
Representatives from the three denominations joined together outside St Edmunds Church to recite initial prayers before proceeding to the Old Rectory, the Veterinary Hospital, the High School, Pyebush Cemetery, the Recreation Centre and finally the Methodist Centre where Andrew King welcomed all participants inside for refreshments.
Participant John Kenny said: “This was a fine example of the village of Acle’s leading role in the practice of ecumenism.
