Sprowston Christmas lights switch-on for Norfolk SEN Network
Tony and Jeanette Fairweather, residents of Linton Crescent in Sprowston, have been decorating their home with Christmas lights for several years, using the occasion to raise funds for various charities. This year, they chose to support the Norfolk SEN Network, a charity that assists parents of children with special educational needs in obtaining necessary provisions. The charity received over £100 in donations from the Fairweather’s Christmas lights display.
The Christmas lights switch-on at the Fairweather family home was attended by around 40 people, who were treated to mince pies, mulled wine for adults, and chocolates for children. A collection box was also placed outside the house to gather donations for the chosen charity. The Fairweathers stated that the display was intended to spread festive cheer along the Crescent and expressed joy in seeing more and more neighbors join in the tradition. The switch-on event was considered a great success.
The charity was suggested by the Norton family, who also reside on Linton Crescent. Pat Brickley, the chairperson for Norfolk SEN Network, expressed gratitude for the nomination and the donations received. As a small local charity, the funds raised from the Christmas lights display will go towards supporting local families. The Fairweathers’ effort to raise funds through their Christmas lights display was praised for its positive impact on the local community and its contribution to a worthy cause. Overall, the event was considered a great success and successfully brought together neighbors and members of the community to support a meaningful cause.
