On the Stall City moves to new shop in The Forum in Norwich
The popular shop On the Stall City has completed its move from Norwich Market to a larger unit in The Forum, much to the delight of owners Andy and Sharon Bowles. The move has been a success so far, with the owners reporting that they have been busier than expected. Additionally, the new space provides more room for customers to shop, making it less overwhelming for both customers and staff. The larger space also allows the shop to stock a greater range of styles and sizes, including former Canaries kits, clothing, and nostalgic items.
The team at On the Stall City are all volunteers, and all profits from the shop go to the Community Sports Foundation (CSF), which is the official charity partner of the football club. In the process of setting up the new shop, staff from CSF, including former Norwich City captain Adam Drury, lent a hand in renovating the space. The shop also receives some stock directly from the club, such as previous seasons’ kits that the club can no longer sell. The Canaries have also donated artwork from the Carrow Road dressing room, which now resides in the new fitting room of the shop.
Despite having no official link to the club, On the Stall City has a strong connection with Norwich City, and the move to The Forum has provided the shop with numerous benefits. The new opening hours for the shop are between 11am and 4pm Monday to Friday, and between 10am and 5pm on Saturdays when there is no home match, closing at midday if there is. Overall, the move to the larger unit in The Forum has been a positive development for On the Stall City, allowing the shop to expand its range, provide a more comfortable shopping experience, and continue to support the Community Sports Foundation through its sales.
