Plymouth Argyle v Norwich City: Follow live Championship updates
The Canaries make the 300-mile plus trip to Home Park hoping to respond to their midweek 2-0 defeat to Leicester, even though David Wagner left Carrow Road feeling encouraged by his side’s second half display.

Defeat to Plymouth would mean City had lost three of their last four matches and would only feed into the disappointment of losing two key strikers in Josh Sargent and Ashley Barnes to injury. The mission today will be to prevent that narrative from forming.
Barnes, who enjoyed a spell with Plymouth earlier in his career, will be sidelined until after the November international break with a medial knee injury sustained in Wednesday’s defeat.
City lost Sargent after a bright start to the campaign in August and the goal-scoring burden will now fall onto Adam Idah and Hwang Ui-jo’s shoulder. Wagner was also keen to ensure that his midfield options take their share of responsibility.
Marcelino Nunez (ankle) is unlikely to return before the October international break whilst Borja Sainz played 45 minutes for City’s U21s away at Everton on Friday night as he steps up his return. Grant Hanley remains a long-term absentee. Jacob Sorensen (pelvis) is being managed carefully and remains weeks away from a first team return.
Plymouth suffered a 4-1 defeat to Bristol City in midweek but made seven changes as Steven Schumacher attempts to make the most of their home advantage in their first season back in the second tier.
Argyle have won two of their opening three games at Home Park against Blackburn and Huddersfield, with the other against Southampton ending in defeat. Norwich have only won five of their 28 visits to the stadium – but were the victors in 2008 under Glenn Roeder, their last trip.
Schumacher is set to welcome defender Julio Pleguezuelo back to the side after he missed Tuesday’s game with a mild concussion.
Bali Mumba is poised to feature against City for the first time since his £1million summer move back to Plymouth. Saxon Earley, who also joined Argyle from Norwich, is missing due to a long-term ankle injury.
