Video: First Norwich bus hits parked car in Fiddlewood Road
Nicole Brown, a 30-year-old woman from Fiddlewood Road, recently experienced a distressing incident when her car was hit and dragged along the pavement while she was visiting her mother. Nicole, who relies on her car due to her health conditions, asthma and Raynaud’s, was devastated to find major damage to the driver’s side of her Ford KA. The incident was captured on CCTV, but the driver responsible for the crash did not stop. Nicole expressed her anger and frustration, stating that she had owned the car since 2015 and depends on it daily.
Nicole’s insurance provider deemed the car undrivable after the accident. She explained that she had significant repairs done on her vehicle just last year and recently passed its MOT in September. Nicole also mentioned that when she parks on the road, other drivers usually wait patiently behind her until there is enough space to pass. However, in this particular incident, a bus driver tried to squeeze through along with oncoming traffic, resulting in the collision.
The incident has left Nicole feeling isolated and frustrated, as she relies on her car for daily tasks and to manage her health conditions. She emphasized the importance of her car, especially during this time of year when her asthma and Raynaud’s are more severe. Nicole’s main concern is the lack of accountability on the part of the driver who hit her car, as they did not stop to acknowledge the accident. She expressed her disgust at witnessing her car being dragged along the pavement, causing significant damage.
First Bus, the bus company involved in the collision, stated that their driver stopped the vehicle in a safe place and reported the incident to the depot at the time. The matter is now being handled by their insurance team. Nicole hopes that the responsible driver will be held accountable for their actions and is working with her insurance company to resolve the situation. In the meantime, she has been left without her lifeline, feeling frustrated and upset by the incident.
