The criminals jailed in Norfolk and Norwich in November 2023

Darnay Alexander received two and a half years in prison for possessing class-A drugs with the intention to supply. Finally, Luke Nash was jailed for 12 weeks and was banned from certain shops for five years for his shoplifting spree. Additionally, Mark Alsopp was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison for vehicle interference following an incident in a car park in St Swithin’s Road in Norwich.
Benjamin Macann, the 34-year-old Dereham man, was involved in planning to flood the county with class-A drugs and collected large sums of money from various locations across Norfolk. After being on the run for nearly two years, he was apprehended in Bulgaria and appeared in Norwich Crown Court, where he was given a 10-year prison sentence. Mark Kaye, a 48-year-old IT professional, bombarded a young girl with inappropriate and indecent messages over a 10-week period, for which he was sentenced to 12 months in prison. The father of the girl said that Kaye had tried to persuade his daughter to meet him and had driven past their home many times, expressing relief that it didn’t go any further.
Darnay Alexander, a 27-year-old man who spent time in Norfolk after the murder of a friend in London, was jailed for two and a half years after being arrested for the possession of heroin and cocaine with the intention to supply. He was also found to have a phone containing bulk messages advertising drugs for sale in Norwich. The final individual, Luke Nash, was arrested for a shoplifting spree targeting shops in Norfolk. He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison and banned from certain shops for five years with a Criminal Behaviour Order. Finally, Mark Alsopp, 43, was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison after attempting to interfere with vehicles in a car park and making threats of violence towards a witness who challenged him.
