Police search for missing Norwich woman intensifies
Gaynor Lord was last seen in Norwich on Friday, December 8th, heading towards Norwich Cathedral, but has not been seen or heard from since. Items belonging to Gaynor, including clothing, jewellery, and her mobile phone, were found in Wensum Park by a member of the public. After receiving a report about the items found, the police established that Gaynor had gone missing. The park has been sealed off with specialist officers carrying out searches of the area, with the use of a drone being a part of their search efforts. Gaynor failed to return home from work on Friday evening and is described as white, 5 ft 6 tall, with blonde, shoulder-length hair in a bob. The police are concerned for her welfare and are asking for anyone who may have seen her on Friday afternoon to come forward with any information.
As a result of the discovery of her belongings, the police’s search activity is focused on Wensum Park, which has been closed to the public to allow them to carry out their search efforts. Anyone with information or who knows of Gaynor’s whereabouts is urged to contact Norfolk Police on 101 quoting incident number 427 of December 8th, 2023. Norwich commander Superintendent Wes Hornigold has made a statement expressing the police’s concern for Gaynor’s welfare and their desire to hear from anyone who may have seen her on the day she went missing. The police are likely to keep the park closed for the remainder of the day as they focus their search efforts there.
The images captured at Wensum Park show police vehicles and a drone being used to carry out searches of the park, which has been sealed off to allow them to do so. The police are hoping for any leads from the public that may assist them in finding Gaynor and are encouraging anyone with information to come forward. The situation is still ongoing as the search for Gaynor Lord continues in Wensum Park and the surrounding areas. The police are taking all measures necessary to locate her and ensure her safe return, as they remain concerned for her well-being given the circumstances of her disappearance.
