Met Office forecasts more rain in Norfolk after Storm Ciarán

The Met Office has issued a forecast predicting ongoing rain in the region, even after Storm Ciarán passes. Although there will be a dry start on Saturday morning, ‘persistent’ rain is expected to begin between 8am and 9am. The rain is likely to break up into lighter showers in the afternoon, but the skies will remain predominantly cloudy.

While there will be drier conditions overnight into Sunday, some showers are still expected in north Norfolk throughout the day. Flood warnings and alerts have been put in place as parts of Norfolk battle the “worst flooding in years”. Businesses have been forced to close and pubs can only be reached by boat.

Fortunately, Monday and Tuesday will bring the driest weather in the country, providing some relief and a chance for the areas worst affected by flooding to recover. However, the Met Office has warned that significant rain and windy conditions may return to the region as early as Wednesday. It is essential for residents and businesses to remain vigilant and prepared for potential further flooding and adverse weather conditions.
