Norwich City: Leeds United injury news for Championship game
Norwich City’s upcoming Championship match against Leeds United has received a boost with key players returning from injury during the international break. Leeds manager Daniel Farke provided a positive update, stating that at least two players were in contention for the match. Premier League star Willy Gnonto and Tottenham Hotspur loanee Djed Spence were among the previously injured players who could potentially make the trip to Carrow Road. Farke described the progress as positive, with Gnonto back in team training and available for the game, although he may not be at 100%. Similarly, Jamie Shackleton has returned to training and has shown improvement with his shoulder injury.
However, it wasn’t all good news for Leeds. Junior Firpo, who has been dealing with a long-term knee ligament issue, is not expected to feature in the match against Norwich. Sam Byram, a former Norwich player, is likely to start at left-back in Firpo’s absence. Stuart Dallas, who has been out for an extended period, is also not yet ready for full contention and will need three to four more weeks. Djed Spence is still undergoing rehabilitation and it will be a few more weeks until he returns to team training.
On the other hand, Leeds will have Patrick Bamford available for the match. The former Norwich loanee has recovered from a hamstring injury and has played in consecutive wins for Leeds. Bamford’s availability will provide Leeds with a boost in their attacking options.
Overall, the international break has allowed Leeds United to strengthen their squad with the return of key players from injury. While some players are still not fully fit and will need more time to recover, the team will benefit from having players like Gnonto and Shackleton available for the match against Norwich City. Leeds will also have the added advantage of having Patrick Bamford, who has been in good form recently. Despite the absence of Firpo and the continued rehabilitation of other players, Leeds will be looking to secure a positive result against Norwich.
