Blakely look for new Norwich shop after Taco Bell changes

Blakely Clothing, which launched in 2012, had been based in London Street for 18 months but the shop was forced to close in April this year after its landlord opted to welcome US fast food giant Taco Bell rather than extend the clothing store’s lease.

The shop, which was started by Gareth Newman from Melton Constable, now has just one physical retail store left, in London’s Westfield Stratford City.

Signs have now been put up in the window of the London Street store redirecting customers to the London shop or its online store and saying it is looking for a new home in Norwich.

The brand aims to sell “super soft” everyday clothing for men and women.

Taco Bell will bring its famous array of tacos, quesadillas, burritos and more to the Fine City in the near future, after plans were approved by Norwich City Council.

The restaurant will be Norfolk’s only branch of the American chain after its Great Yarmouth takeaway closed during the pandemic.
