Both were part of the Canaries’ recruitment drive this summer and were key in their third successive home victory over Stoke on Saturday.
Stacey netted the winning goal on the stroke of half-time with Fassnacht continuing to impress since completing a move from Swiss champions Young Boys in the summer.
Despite being an unknown quantity when he arrived on these shores, Fassnacht has caught the eye in the early weeks of his spell in Norfolk and continues to combine with Stacey down the right side.
Both offensively and defensively, the pair are working in tandem, and Stacey believes it is the result of friendship and tireless work behind the scenes.
“We’ve got a good partnership,” Stacey said. “That comes from getting on off the pitch and also a lot of the analysis and work that we do on the training ground that allows those partnerships to build.
“In a lot of promotion-winning teams or teams that have success, you see those partnerships all over the pitch, so it’s important for us to develop them.
“He is a very unselfish player. Not many wingers want to do the defensive job that he does but he does it so well. That really helps me.
“If I can help him going forward, then we can both get crosses in the box and show end product. I’m sure it’ll be a good partnership throughout the rest of the season.”
Norwich were determined to right the wrongs of their first Championship defeat of the campaign against Rotherham United prior to the international break.
After having two weeks to stew on that result, there was a desperation to prove themselves – even if they made it nervy for themselves in the second half.
“We came off a little bit intensity-wise against Rotherham, and it shows how hard a league the Championship is and we know that,” Stacey told the Pink Un post-match.
“We didn’t want to make any excuses about the performance so we wanted to come back to Carrow Road and show how good of a team we believe we are. I think in the first half we did that.
“This is the type of win that could be really important at the end of season.”
