Come and Sing Mozart in Sheringham church

Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society will be holding their popular annual Come and Sing event in Sheringham on Saturday 8 October, and all are invited to join in.

This event takes the form of an all-day workshop in the Lighthouse Community Church, Cromer Road, Sheringham, NR26 8RT, followed by a “scratch” concert performance at St Peter’s Church, Sheringham which is open to all. The participants will be rehearsing and performing Mozart’s Coronation Mass, led by musical director David Ballard and accompanied by Philip Adams.

The workshop gets under way with distribution of scores from 10:00 am. At the close of the workshop all singers will make their way the short distance to St Peter’s Church where a full performance will take place at 4:00 pm.  It is hoped that friends and families of the singers as well as other members of the local community will come along to St Peter’s to enjoy this short concert and celebrate the occasion.

Bob Cumber from the Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society said “We had originally planned to mark the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee Year by inviting singers of all ages and abilities to join them to sing the Coronation Mass in C by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Following the death of HM the Queen and the forthcoming coronation of King Charles III this choice has become even more poignant.”

Tickets for the workshop and concert are £10, and Pre-booking is essential. Please complete the Booking Form which can be found on the Come & Sing page of the Society’s website. The day will conclude with a retiring collection.
