Norwich care home manager becomes bodybuilding finalist
Emily Carrasquillo from Laurel Lodge on Ipswich Road can usually be found managing the care home.
But outside of work, her passion is fitness and bodybuilding and, together with her partner, she takes part in competitions across the country and further afield.
The 39-year-old, who lives in the city, said: “I’ve always been passionate about fitness and took up bodybuilding seven years ago.
“I am just as passionate about bodybuilding as I am about being a registered care home manager.
“I manage my time very well by training at 3.30am to then go straight to work.”

In the most recent UK Ultimate Physique regional competition in York, she qualified for the British finals, in which she will go head-to-head against some fierce competition.
The winner will be crowned the UK’s Ultimate Physiques British Champion in their chosen category.
Ms Carrasquillo performed her routine wearing an individually created bikini, encrusted with a sparkling crystal Black Swan Care Group design, reflecting the Norfolk-based care group who sponsored her for the event.
“Doing the competitions has been exhilarating and I’m absolutely delighted to have qualified for the national championships,” she added.
“I’m very grateful to Black Swan who have sponsored me, and I can’t wait to take part in the championships final.”
