Sheringham Methodists get their just desserts
St Andrews Methodist Church in Sheringham actively participated in Christian Aid week this year, starting with a special service featuring Alison Webster from Christian Aid as the speaker. She shared the story of Alina from Burundi, who was building her own house with the help of the charity. Alison encouraged the congregation to live out their Christian discipleship by challenging injustice and the wealth gap between the rich and poor. During the service, attendees were invited to write prayers on paper ‘bricks’ related to the Christian Aid theme, which were then displayed on a wall along with other information about the charity.
To wrap up Christian Aid week, St Andrews hosted a ‘Just Desserts’ event that raised an impressive £740 for the charity. Combined with envelope donations throughout the week, a total of £1015 was raised.
