Sheringham church to host RNLI support concert

A free charity brass band concert is set to take place at St Peter’s Church in Sheringham to raise funds for Sheringham RNLI. Organised by the Oddfellows’ East Anglian Group Conference, the concert will feature Oddfellows Brass, a touring band that competes at regional and national levels. The event will celebrate the RNLI’s 200-year anniversary and aims to support the efforts of the Sheringham Lifeboat Station, which has received longstanding support from the Oddfellows group.

The concert, scheduled for Sunday 4 August at 3pm, is open to all and will include a collection for the RNLI Sheringham Lifeboat Station on the day. With a diverse repertoire covering classical, opera, stage and film, as well as traditional brass band works, the show promises to appeal to both seasoned brass lovers and first-timers. Secretary of the Oddfellows East Anglian Group Conference, David Randall, expressed pride in the group’s support for RNLI Sheringham over the past six decades and encouraged community members to attend and show their appreciation for the lifesaving work of the RNLI.

Sheringham RNLI Lifeboat Operations Manager, Brian Farrow, highlighted the crucial support provided by the Oddfellows to the Sheringham Lifeboat Station, acknowledging their valuable contributions over the years. The event represents a collaboration between the Oddfellows, a national friendly society focusing on friendship and support, and the RNLI Sheringham, aiming to raise awareness and funds for the station. Attendees can contact David Randall for tickets or more information about the concert, with seats allocated on a first come, first served basis. Additionally, opportunities to learn more about the Oddfellows Society will be available at the event.
