Billy Graham in Norwich: “he impacted my life”
Jane Moore, a mother from Norwich, attended the Billy Graham mission in 1984 with her neighbor Lily Sillett. Although they did not convert at that time, Jane later found her faith and helped others to follow Jesus. Despite not being involved in church at the time, Jane attended the mission with Lily, where they enjoyed the singing and listened to Billy preach. However, it was not until years later, after facing challenges such as the birth of her son and her husband’s conversion, that Jane fully embraced Christianity and was baptized in 1992. This marked the beginning of a transformative journey that led her to run a charity in the Gambia, work in church activities, and share the love of God with others.
Jane’s journey of faith was not a straightforward one, as it involved emotional and mental healing, as well as various supernatural experiences. Through heartbreaks, deaths, divorce, and remarriage, Jane found solace in her newfound faith. Her two sons also faced challenges of their own but eventually found their way back to God, becoming vocal about their faith. Jane’s neighbor Lily, who accompanied her to the Billy Graham mission, also experienced a transformation in her faith journey. Through Lily’s prayers and faith, her youngest son Brian also came to faith and was healed of emotional traumas. Both Jane and Brian baptized Lily by full immersion when she was 86 before Brian moved to South Africa and passed away.
Reflecting on the impact of the Billy Graham mission in her life and the lives of those around her, Jane acknowledged the value of the seeds that were sown. She emphasized the importance of sharing the love of God with others and how one’s personal connection to God can touch the lives of many. As Jane continues to be actively involved in church activities, she sees God’s hand not only in her life but also in the lives of her family members and those she has encountered throughout her journey. Jane’s story serves as a testament to the profound impact of faith and the power of sharing one’s personal journey with others.
Jane encourages others who have personal stories to share from the Mission England events in Norwich to reach out and share their experiences. Through sharing stories of faith and personal transformation, individuals can inspire and uplift others who may be on their own journey of self-discovery and faith. Jane’s journey, from attending the Billy Graham mission with her neighbor to embracing her faith and sharing the love of God with others, exemplifies the transformative power of faith and the ripple effect it can have on those around us. By touching the lives of others through personal testimonies and acts of kindness, the love of God becomes real and tangible in the lives of many.
