Cromer churches host domestic abuse campaign

The ‘Souls of our Shoes’ exhibition, organized by Mothers’ Union, is aimed at raising awareness of domestic abuse. This exhibition is part of the ‘Rise Up’ campaign and will be taking place in Cromer Parish Church and St Martin’s Church over the next two weeks. The exhibition will be open daily from 10.30am to 3.30pm, offering a chance for visitors to learn more about this important issue.

The exhibition is a powerful display that aims to shed light on domestic abuse worldwide. Mothers’ Union members will be on hand to offer support, a listening ear, and prayer for those who need it. The campaign focuses on the letters of RISE UP, which stand for Respond, Inform, Support, Empower, Unite, and Pray. This initiative is part of Mothers’ Union’s global Christian movement to strengthen families and advocate for change, with 4 million members active in 83 countries.

By working with their members, Mothers’ Union is ensuring that churches have information about local domestic abuse helplines. The exhibition invites visitors to reflect and pray for all those affected by this often-hidden trauma. The organization’s mission is to serve communities and build a future where everyone thrives.
