Norwich man jailed for Sexual Harm Prevention Order breach
Christopher Maddison, 35, was sentenced to two years in jail after pleading guilty to four breaches of a Sexual Harm Prevention Order (SHPO) at Norwich Crown Court on November 30. The case originated in November when a police officer spotted Maddison using a smartphone in Norwich and conducted a search of the device. Following the discovery of an email of a sexual nature and a browser application designed to hide internet browsing activity, police performed an unannounced visit to Maddison’s home, where he initially handed over a basic mobile phone but later produced the smartphone and a previously undisclosed laptop. As a result, Maddison was arrested and charged with breaching the SHPO, originally issued in July 2015, and was taken to Wymondham police station for questioning.
