What this site stores

The paper is read in a browser. The pipeline reads public feeds on the server. There is no account and no advertising tracker in this build.

Reading a page does not require an account. This build does not set a tracking cookie and does not embed third-party ad scripts. The advertisement boxes are empty placeholders.

The corrections form stores the name, email, page address, and message you submit, plus the time, in a file on the server. It is kept so the desk can act on it. It is not added to a newsletter and it is not sold. Do not include someone else’s private information in a correction.

The host that runs the site may keep ordinary request logs, which can include an IP address. That is the host’s log, not an editorial database.

Outbound links go to other organisations — a newspaper, the council, the Food Standards Agency, police.uk, a football-data site. Their privacy notices apply once you leave.

Public-data pages repeat information those bodies already publish, including food-business names and planning addresses. To challenge an official record, use the body that published it. To challenge our summary of it, use the corrections page or desk@norwich.news.
