Norfolk Christian couple volunteer in Israel

Christian couple Bill and Val Crudgington have left Norfolk this week for a year’s voluntary placement in Israel working at a CMJ guest house.

The guest house is called Beit Bracha, which translates as House of Blessing, in the village of Migdal at the northern end of the Sea of Galilee. Bill said, “We have stayed at this guest house a number of times, our last visit was in September 2018 when we travelled in Israel with six ladies in a nine seater vehicle.”

The couple previously served at Christ Church Guest House in Israel from 1998 through to December 2002. After returning to the UK, they worked at Christina conference centre Letton Hall for 11 years and during that time visited Israel on a regular basis.

They were members of Mount Zion church since about the mid 1990’s later becoming NFLC and now Soul Church. Bill said, “Quite a few years ago Jon Norman, now senior pastor at Soul Church, spoke over us that God had not finished with us yet and we took this as indicating that we would serve again in Israel.”

Bill and Val started the application process to volunteer at Beit Bracha in late Autumn of 2018. Bill said, “The big topic for is would we be accepted as we both approach our 70th birthday. Praise God we take one of the well known statements of Soul Church is that age is just a number, and we are both blessed with good health and are fit.”

Bill says that during the application process they received the verse from Psalm 110, verse 3 “Your people shall be volunteers in the day of Your power” and soon got confirmation that their placement had been approved.

Bill and Val were pleased to go and join other volunteers who serve alongside the guest house managers Kent and Shawna to be a blessing to all who stay at Beit Bracha and hopefully the people of Migdal.  Bill said, “Our encouragement to others would be never say never!”
