Missionary couple offer help to Norfolk churches

A young East Anglian family who plan to serve as missionaries in a remote country in East Asia are offering Norfolk churches help to arrange their own mission-themed event.

Alex and Vatha Theobald trained as Lay Ministers for Youth and Children with the Diocese of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich and have been serving as youth leaders at their home church in Bury St Edmunds.

They’re aiming to go to East Asia in 2024 with OMF International. This Singapore-based mission agency has a rich history of creatively bringing the gospel to Asia’s unreached billions since it was founded in 1865 as the China Inland Mission by Hudson Taylor.

To prepare for their time in Asia, the Theobalds will undertake studies at All Nations Christian College in Ware from September. They are open to visiting and speaking at churches who would be interested in hearing about sharing the gospel with unreached tribal groups.

Vatha is currently the Under-30s Mission Mobiliser for the East of England at OMF. She is responsible for helping churches excite youth and children to become engaged in global mission.

In collaboration with local churches across the East of England, Vatha leads exciting kids-work at national conferences, music events, youth groups, Sunday school and mission days. She also creates mission resources and can provide advice on fun ways to teach mission in your church for every age group.

As OMF is a faith mission, the service is free of charge in Norfolk and Norwich as churches in the region have been long-time supporters of our workers. If you would like to arrange a mission-themed event at your church then do get in touch at [email protected]
