Pop-up Norwich shop to raise education charity funds

Hope and Light UK, a Christian educational development charity based in Norwich, will be hosting a pop-up charity shop at Witard Road Community Cafe on November 17. The shop will be run by Dianne and Paul Cruickshank, who have been involved with the charity since 2004. The couple first became involved with Hope and Light when they visited a children’s feeding scheme in South Africa and have been working to support the charity’s initiatives ever since.

One of the charity’s major projects was the renovation of a disused nursery school in South Africa, which was transformed into a kindergarten for children in the village. To fund this initiative, Dianne worked on securing sponsors in Norwich and the UK, while Paul worked to have Hope and Light (UK) registered as an official charity with HMRC. The charity received great support from the Norwich community, including the Witard Road Baptist Church, the Salvation Army at Mile Cross, and The Citadel Band and singers. The pop-up charity shop event aims to continue supporting the charity’s efforts and provide an opportunity for people to find bargains just in time for Christmas.

The pop-up charity shop will be a one-day event, running from 10.30am until 2pm at the Witard Road Community Cafe. In addition to shopping, attendees can also enjoy coffee and snacks while supporting a good cause. Those interested in learning more about the charity can visit their website at www.hopeandlight.org.uk or contact Dianne and Paul Cruickshank via email at [email protected] or by phone at 01603 412944. The Hope and Light UK branch is registered as a charity with the UK Registered Charity number 1141782.
