Norwich church and shops team up for appeal
In Norwich, a Christmas appeal run by Alive Church charity Alive UK and Chantry Place has been successful in providing hundreds of gifts to local children and their caregivers in need. The appeal is open for donations of new gifts for all ages, including babies, children, teenagers, and those who care for them. Chantry Place has donated 348 selection boxes to Alive UK to support Shelter and help the 348 homeless children in Norfolk during Christmas. The retailer charity bingo night held at Chantry Place also raised money for the appeal. The operations manager, Jo Bates, expressed gratitude for the generosity of visitors and retailers and emphasized the goal of helping as many families as possible during the holiday season.

She emphasized the increased demand for assistance this year due to the cost of living crisis. A mother who received gifts from the appeal last year expressed her gratitude and relief, stating that the gifts were the answer to her prayers and brought joy to her family during a difficult time. Donations of unwrapped gifts, toys, chocolate treats, wrapping paper, and sticky tape are welcomed until Sunday, December 17 at the collection point on the lower ground floor of Chantry Place, opposite Boots. Alive UK, supported by Alive Church, is a registered charity with around 50 volunteers.
