Norwich Christmas card shop opens in church
The Original Norwich Charity Christmas Card shop is celebrating its 58th year of operation, with 28 charities selling their cards in St Peter Mancroft church. The shop will be open from Monday to Saturday until mid-December. Organiser Liz Magem highlighted how the aim of the shop is to give every penny taken back to the charities, achieved by keeping overheads low. The team members are all volunteers, and the shop raises money to cover its running costs through raffling Christmas hampers created from donated gifts. The shop has raised almost £2 million to date. The Lord Mayor of Norwich, James Wright, officially opened the shop and praised the fundraising efforts of the charities involved.
