New Sonic Sanctity night promises ‘mini festival experience’
A new music night called Stereo Sanctity will be launched at the end of the month promising a “mini festival” experience within the space of a few hours. The first event will be held on Friday 25 October at Voodoo Daddy’s in Norwich, with plans for future events in Cambridge and Ipswich. The event has been organized by Adrian Cooke, co-founder of the annual Sound and Vision convention, who wanted to get back to promoting individual gigs with his son Jamie. The night aims to provide a unique and immersive experience for attendees, rather than a typical gig format.
Stereo Sanctity, named after a Sonic Youth song, will feature alternative, experimental, and eclectic music. The event will include three bands with DJs playing between sets. Notable performances include Deb Googe, bassist from My Bloody Valentine, making her solo debut as Da Googie with intricate soundscapes and visuals. Norwich band Magnolia, known for their experimental post-rock sounds, will perform with an expanded eight-piece lineup. The All Tomorrows, a new band from the city, will showcase their post-rock, shoegaze, post-punk, and pop-influenced tunes.
The event promises to deliver a diverse array of music genres and styles, creating a dynamic and engaging atmosphere for attendees. Stereo Sanctity aims to offer a more immersive and festival-like experience within the confines of a single night. By featuring a mix of established and emerging artists, the event hopes to appeal to a wide audience and showcase the vibrant music scenes in Norwich and beyond. With a focus on creativity and innovation, Stereo Sanctity looks set to provide a platform for artists pushing the boundaries of their respective genres.
Stereo Sanctity is scheduled to take place on 25 October 2024 from 19:00 until 23:00 GMT at Voodoo Daddy’s in Norwich. The event is expected to draw music enthusiasts and fans of alternative and experimental music genres, offering a unique and memorable night of live performances. With a lineup that includes established musicians and emerging talent, Stereo Sanctity is poised to become a must-attend event for those looking for a fresh and exciting music experience in the Norwich area. Attendees can expect a night filled with distinctive sounds, creative visuals, and a sense of community as they come together to celebrate the diverse and innovative music scene in the region.
