West Norfolk church celebrates new facilities
All Saints’ Church in King’s Lynn recently held a service to commemorate the opening of their new toilet and kitchen facilities. Around 80 people gathered on May 5 to celebrate the occasion, with the Bishop of Norwich, the Rt Rev Graham Usher, present to bless the new amenities. The facilities were officially opened by Cllr Margaret Wilkinson, Mayor of King’s Lynn & West Norfolk, and David Flux Esq, High Sheriff of Norfolk. The project was made possible with grant assistance from the borough council, the Anglo-Catholic Society, and the Andrew Lloyd Webber Foundation.
Speaking to Lynn News, church rector Rev Canon Adrian Ling expressed his gratitude for the new facilities, stating that it was embarrassing to admit they did not have a toilet before. He emphasized the importance of hospitality in Christian service, noting that their weekly mass is always followed by coffee in the church and special events are marked with a glass of bubbly. The church community is relieved to finally have these new facilities after struggling without them for a long time. A message of thanks was posted on the church’s Facebook page following the opening, expressing gratitude to everyone who contributed to making the project possible.
The event was a joyous occasion that brought together members of the community to celebrate the church’s new amenities. The addition of the toilet and kitchen facilities will greatly enhance the church’s ability to host events and provide hospitality to its congregation. The project was made possible through a combination of grant funding and support from various organizations, highlighting the importance of collaboration in achieving community goals. The church is thankful for the support they received and looks forward to utilizing their new facilities for future events and services.
Overall, the service of thanksgiving and blessing at All Saints’ Church was a memorable and meaningful event for all involved. The church community expressed their appreciation for the support and hard work that went into making the new facilities a reality. With the addition of these essential amenities, the church can now better serve its congregation and continue its mission of hospitality and Christian service. The success of this project is a testament to the power of collaboration and community involvement in fulfilling the needs of a place of worship.
