Three churches in King’s Lynn are hosting free community lunches on Christmas Day for those who have nowhere else to go.
On Christmas Day members of the Church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, King’s Lynn Baptist Church and St Faith’s Gaywood are organising three free community lunches to ensure that those people who are homeless, lonely or with nowhere else to go, don’t miss out on the festivities.
There will be a free Christmas Day Lunch from 12pm at Mary’s Kitchen on London Road, next to the Catholic church of Our Lady of the Annunciation, near Merchants Terrace. This is for clients of Genesis Housing, the Purfleet Trust and any homeless people who do not use either service. Drop in on the day, no ticket required.
Youth and Community Worker Laura Evans and her husband Chris from King’s Lynn Baptist Church are hosting a free Christmas Day Lunch for anyone who is homeless or who would normally be on their own. The meal will take place from 1pm – 3pm at the Scout Hut, Portland Place, South Lynn, PE30 5NA. Entry is by ticket only for insurance purposes. St Faith’s Church in Gaywood is hosting an invitation-only Christmas Day Lunch and social from 12 noon until after the Queen’s Speech at 3.30pm. There is no charge but due to limited places it is strictly on an invitation-only basis.
Rev Julie Boyd, Rector of St Faith’s said: “Invitations will go to those people who would most benefit from this gift, people who would otherwise be celebrating the great feast of Christmas alone.” Please contact Rev Julie Boyd to nominate someone by phoning 01553 770952.
