King’s Lynn Foodbank has received notice to vacate its current distribution premises from the end of September and is urgently seeking new premises in the town.
King’s Lynn Foodbank is urgently seeking new premises for its distribution centre having received notice to vacate its current site at the British Red Cross building on Austin Fields in King’s Lynn.
The owners of their current distribution building will be proceeding with the sale of the property and therefore notice has been given to King’s Lynn Foodbank to move out by September 29.
King’s Lynn Foodbank are looking for premises with the following specifications:

Space to store food (at least 200 ft2); -
Space to distribute food (we open two hours a day each weekday); -
Facilities to prepare hot drinks and ideally food; -
Disability access; -
Links to public transport and ideally close to the town centre.
In addition, ideally the premises would have office space for the Centre Manager and parking facilities. The Foodbank would be happy to share premises with existing organisations.
Andy King, Foodbank Trustee said: “The Foodbank is needed now more than ever, with over 3,800 people receiving food last year – a 22% rise.
“It’s important to note that the Foodbank will continue to operate and serve the local community. If we are unable to secure an alternative venue, we would be able to operate from our warehouse on the North Lynn Industrial Estate.
“However, our strong preference would be for a central location where people can receive a friendly welcome, food, and assistance with managing their situation.
“We have been incredibly grateful to the British Red Cross for their support over the past two years.”
