Churches Together in King’s Lynn celebrate active year

On September 20, Churches Together in King’s Lynn will celebrate a year that has involved starting and growing community initiatives at their AGM, and give nine local Christian projects the opportunity to share how they are serving the town.
The AGM of Churches Together in King’s Lynn will take place on Wednesday, September 20 at 7pm following an active year of service within the local community.
Initiatives that have started, with the support of the group, include a CAP Job Club, the Foodbank’s ‘Eat Well; Spend Less’ course in Fairstead and plans for the opening of a winter night shelter.
Throughout the year Churches Together in King’s Lynn has also been part of organising events on topics such as mental health, migrants and refugees and the need for a Credit Union within the town.
The business of the AGM, to be held at London Road Methodist Church, will be followed by a 10-minute talk by Dr Peter Doll, Canon Librarian of Norwich Cathedral on the Norwich Centre for Christian Learning.
Short project updates will then be presented by representatives of groups serving King’s Lynn including from the new Winter Night Shelter, the CAP Debt Centre, a Saturday Lunch Club, ACCESS – Supporting Migrants in East Anglia, King’s Lynn Celebrate and King’s Lynn Foodbank.
The AGM will also include thanks to Mike Brown, who died in May, for his work over many years as Treasurer of Churches Together in King’s Lynn.
