Walsingham showcase for Christian artists
A group of Christian artists will be holding a pop-up gallery in Walsingham next week, and all are welcome to come and view their work. Tony Rothe reports.
The group of artists consists of Charlotte Ashenden, Charlotte Tucker, Charlotte Harmer, Emma Blount, Tracey Ross all from Norfolk and Mary-Maye Lorriman from Cumbria. The gallery will feature Christian-themed Christmas cards and prints and line drawings, which will also be for sale.
Justin and Charlotte Harmer live at the Old Bakehouse, pictured above, where the pop-up gallery will be held. They moved to the eighteenth century premises in Walsingham with their son Isidore last year, and use their home to host prayer meetings, concerts and art gatherings as well as offering bed and breakfast accommodation.
Justin said “A number of us are in a prayer group, The Walsingham Group, that meets to pray about our artistic and personal journeys and support each other as we work out our calling as Artists in this beautiful part of the world. An ecumenical group, we are Roman Catholic, Evangelical, and Coptic Orthodox.”
The gallery will run on Saturday 15 October and then from Monday to Thursday 17 to 20 October at the Old Bakehouse, 33 High Street, Little Walsingham, Norfolk NR22 6BZ.
