Sheringham church walking for revival
Members of Lighthouse Community Church in Sheringham recently completed their third revival prayer walk, where they walked from Norwich to Cromer, praying for the communities they passed through. The walk, which took place over two days in July, had about fifteen participants who focused their prayers on asking God to revive, restore, and build new Church communities in North Norfolk. This walk follows previous walks from Lowestoft to Sheringham in 2021 and from Hunstanton to Sheringham in the previous year along the North Norfolk coast.
The team from Lighthouse Church started their journey from the Old Meeting House in Colgate, Norwich, reflecting on God’s work in the past and then made their way to Swanton Abbott Chapel, where they stayed overnight. The next day, they continued on to Cromer Christian Fellowship, where the walk concluded. Ian Savory, the leader at Lighthouse, emphasized how the walk symbolized God drawing from the past and moving towards a future filled with His plans. The walkers appreciated the time they spent together during the walk and were grateful for the hospitality and partnership from Swanton Abbott Chapel and Cromer Christian Fellowship.
Daniel Ward, one of the Lighthouse leaders who participated in the walk, shared the significance of what he described as a pilgrimage in a video. The event aimed to demonstrate God’s work through history and His continuous movement towards the future, bringing hope and renewal to the communities in North Norfolk. The Lighthouse Community Church’s revival prayer walk from Norwich to Cromer is part of their ongoing efforts to pray for and support Church communities in North Norfolk. This year’s walk marked the third time they have organized such an event, with previous walks covering different routes in the region. By praying for revival, restoration, and new growth in the Church communities they passed through, the participants hope to see God’s work manifest in the lives of people in North Norfolk. The walk also served as a time for fellowship and reflection among the participants, providing an opportunity to connect with each other and with God’s plans for the future.
