Network Norfolk : Sheringham Methodists’ event-filled September

St Andrews Methodist Church in Sheringham will celebrating the start of the new Methodist Church year with an active program of events throughout September.

The church will be holding a Songs of Praise on the grass outside the building on Sunday 4 September at 4pm, followed by light refreshments.  They would love to see as many folk as possible join in with this joyful event.

Encompass’, the newly formed social group re-convenes on Thursday 8 September after the summer break with ‘Catch up & Refreshments’.  The afternoon runs from 2.30pm to 4pm. The charge is just £1 for the refreshments. The group then meets monthly with a varied programme. For more information, e-mail [email protected] or phone 01263 824887.

As Sheringham celebrates the 1940’s weekend, based around the North Norfolk Railway, St Andrews will be holding a Vintage Sale on the grass outside the church from 10am until 12 noon on Saturday 17 September. All proceeds will go to to Action for Children. On the following day, the 1940’s service at 10.30am will be led by Revd Ann Bossingham, followed by a 40’s style lunch on the grass with songs of the era sung by Rachel.  Details from [email protected] or phone 012363 821600

The weekly Do-drop-in’ Café, pictured above, takes place every Wednesday with drinks served from 10.45am and a two-course lunch at 12noon.  There is no charge for this, but donations will be accepted.  Jean Parton, from St Andrews, said “All ages are very welcome at this meal. It is a great place to come and make friends in a supportive environment.”
