Jesus Revolution film returns to Cromer

The film depicting a Christian revival in the 1970s will be returning to Cromer’s Regal Movieplex later this week, and tickets are now available.

Jesus Revolution (12A) depicts the true story from the 1970s, when young Greg Laurie (Joel Courtney) meets up with Lonnie Frisbee (Jonathan Roumie), a charismatic hippie-street-preacher and Pastor Chuck Smith (Kelsey Grammer), to open the doors of Smith’s languishing church to an unexpected revival. This was the beginning of what became Calvary Chapel which in turn spawned the worldwide Vineyard movement.

The film will be shown at Cromer’s Regal Movieplex on Hans Place at 7pm on Thursday 21st September and is open to anyone aged 12 or over.

July’s Premier Christianity magazine contained a 2-page review in which Jesus Revolution is described as “a film that earns the accolade of being one of the best Christian films I’ve seen.”

Variety magazine described the film as “One of the most appealing faith-based big-screen entertainments in a while – polished and persuasive”

David Taylor from Christian films at my Cinema said “I hope it goes really well again at Cromer.  There’s something exciting about being in a well-attended cinema and meeting your friends there.  It will be a good opportunity for the local churches to do something together and to support Christian film at your local cinema.”
