Festival weekend at Sloley Methodist Church
Sloley Summer Festival is set to return over the bank holiday weekend, offering fun for the whole family. The festivities kick off with a barbecue and concert on Saturday, followed by a Festival Service on Sunday and a Summer Fayre on Bank Holiday Monday. The live music for the weekend will be provided by the worship band from Third Avenue Church & Community in Gillingham, Kent, led by Mark Frost. Mark, who grew up in Norfolk, has been bringing his worship group to Sloley since 2013, hosting a concert and leading worship during the festival.
The Saturday concert promises to be a laid-back evening of live music and entertainment, featuring a mix of music genres and humorous sketches, including the return of their quirky superhero character, ‘Frogman’. The evening will be preceded by a BBQ. On Sunday, the band will lead worship for the Festival Service, mixing modern and traditional worship songs. The Summer Fayre on Monday will offer various stalls, refreshments, and community singing, with all proceeds going to support Sloley Methodist Church. Mark emphasizes that the festival is a time for fun and laughter, with something for everyone to enjoy.
Tickets for the concert are priced at £6 each or £10 to include the barbecue, with tickets available on the door or in advance by contacting the Sloley Methodist Church via email or phone. The event aims to bring the community together for a weekend of music, entertainment, and fellowship. The festival provides an opportunity for people to come together, enjoy live music, and support a local church. Whether you are a member of the church or simply looking for a fun-filled weekend, all are welcome to join in the festivities and embrace the spirit of Sloley Summer Festival.
