Encounter God through art at Salthouse Church
A Christian artists collective is forming, based in Salthouse church North Norfolk, and they will be exhibiting their work at the church later this month. Tony Rothe reports.
The Salthouse 2022 is an exhibition of the arts which runs from Monday 18 through to Saturday 23 April 2022 by The Salthouse, a group of Christian artists led by Ian Dyble, the vicar of the Weybourne group of churches, who glorify God through art.
Through the media of oil painting, cold wax, pastel, glass painting, drawing, singing and poetry, these artists are using their creativity to share their lives as Christians and express their connection with God through their art whilst inviting others to do the same.
The Salthouse group consists of five professional Christian artists; Tracey Ross, Nick Elliot, Meg Foster, Charlotte Ashenden and Emma Blount who, together with Ian, have a vision for Norfolk to see God through art, and this exhibition in Salthouse church is the beginning of a realisation of this vision.
There will be beautiful paintings, drawings, glass paintings and poetry on the walls of the church for people to see; free art or poetry demonstrations and workshops at 11am and 3pm most days and free praise-painting workshop at 5pm on April 22 for people of all ages to take part in.
The exhibition runs from 10am to 5pm daily, and admission is free.
Ian Dyble said “The arts connect people with their Creator – Just being in this beautiful church in the lovely sea-side village of Salthouse during Easter week, will be an encounter with God in itself.”
