Children’s Christmas holiday club in Briston
A children’s Christmas holiday bible club will take place in Briston next week, and there is no charge to take part in the fun.
The event is open to all children aged 5 to 11 and will take place on Monday 19 December, from 1.00 pm to 4.00 pm. There will be stories, songs, crafts, and games, based on the theme of ‘The Candy Maker’s Christmas‘ and activities will be based on the way in which the familiar candy cane can be used to explain the real meaning of Christmas.
Event organiser, Matthew Pickhaver, said “We run independent Holiday Bible Club sessions for 5-11’s here in Briston each school holiday but we would like to appeal to families from a wider area.”
The Candy-Maker’s Christmas is a rhyming play written by Matthew, in which the Candy Maker is challenged to create a confection fit for a Prince. Characters from the Christmas story emerge from a Bible to remind the children that it’s all about Jesus, which the Candy Maker reflects in his new invention. To read more about the play, click here.
The day will be led by three qualified and experienced schoolteachers, all with up-to-date DBS checks. Parents are welcome either to stay for the session or to drop the children off and pick them up at the end.
The event is completely free but please book places for your children by contacting Matthew on 07910 383682 or at [email protected] .
The holiday club will take place at The Copeman Centre, Hall Street, Briston, NR24 2LG.
