Norwich City: Kellen Fisher interview on embracing Canaries challenge
The young full-back joined the Canaries from National League side Bromley earlier in the summer with Norwich beating a host of clubs to his signature.
Despite being initially earmarked to feature for the development side, Fisher was handed an opportunity to train with David Wagner’s first team and impressed enough to be considered a part of their Championship squad.
He has provided competition for Jack Stacey at right-back after Norwich cashed in on Max Aarons, who departed to Bournemouth earlier in the summer.
Fisher, 19, has made two appearances in both of City’s Carabao Cup victories against QPR and Bristol City – most notably recording an assist to help Norwich to a 1-0 victory at Loftus Road on his debut for the club.
The youngster returned to Bromley at the weekend as a special guest for their 4-1 victory over Maidenhead United at Hayes Lane and was full of gratitude for the platform the non-league club provided him, culminating in a move to Norwich.
“It’s been really good. It took me a couple of weeks to settle in and stuff but it’s been a big step up. I feel like I’m adapting well to it,” he told TNT Sports.
“Getting that first assist on my first start (against QPR in the Carabao Cup), I was buzzing.
“This is where I started playing in my football career, and it’s all credit to this club and what they’ve done for me to go onto Norwich.”

The next target for Fisher is to remain in and around Wagner’s squad for the rest of the Championship campaign, having been named on the bench in the league on four occasions this season.
Managing his development whilst ensuring they don’t leave themselves short of options at right back is a conundrum that will require managing, but it is a testament to Fisher’s progress since he arrived that he has given them that welcome headache.
Norwich believe they have acquired a player capable of playing a major part of their future – Fisher will be hoping that adaptation to life in Norfolk can continue.
