Baroque music concert in Cromer Church
Sheringham and Cromer Choral Society are holding an evening of baroque music in Cromer Parish Church later this month, and tickets are now available.
The concert is titled Visions of Venice and will conclude the choral society’s 90th Anniversary season. The choir, directed by David Ballard, will be accompanied by the Baroque String Orchestra, and will feature Philip Adams on organ and harpsichord, and David Price on oboe. Soloists include sopranos Zaira Palumbo and Isabella Rushen, and Graham Northwood, countertenor.
Bob Cumber, from the society, said “This will be a magnificent explosion of delightful baroque music. The concert will feature Antonio Vivaldi’s wonderful Gloria and Claudio Monteverdi’s Beatus Vir. Accompanied by a Baroque String Quartet and including an oboe recital, expect foot-tapping melodies and be prepared to leave in a joyous mood!”
The concert will take place in Cromer Parish Church at 7pm on Saturday 15 July. Tickets are £15 (under 18’s free) and can be purchased from the box office at Sheringham Little Theatre – telephone 01263 822347 or online at www.sheringhamlittletheatre.com. They are also available from North Norfolk Visitor Centre, Louden Road, Cromer for personal callers only.
