A new Filling Station is set to launch in Mid Norfolk

The fifth Filling Station in Norfolk, part of a growing network of informal, mid-week Christian celebration meetings, will launch on January 12 serving the Ouse Valley area from Diss to Thetford.

On Friday, January 12, 7.30pm the Ouse Valley Filling Station will be launched at Garboldisham Village Hall, the mid point between Thetford and Diss

There is now a growing network of over 90 Filling Stations around the world with four existing Filling Stations based in Norfolk – in Swanton Novers, the Norfolk Broads, Yare Valley and Sprowston.

Stella Hart is one of a small team of Christians from various churches in the area who is behind the launch of the Ouse Valley Filling Station.  She was initially inspired by reading the vision of The Filling Station’s Director and Founder Richard Fothergill on The Filling Station website.

The proven concept is that using monthly, informal mid-week evening ‘celebration’ meetings, held in non-church venues, Christian communities grow in depth and numbers. The Filling Stations aim to offer high quality speakers and teachers, contemporary sung worship and powerful, accessible prayer ministry.

Stella said: “This excited me; we visited a Filling Station and loved it!  I felt that this might be something that we could run in our own area to provide refuel for Christians and welcome those of no faith too.  My husband, Andy, and I went to the national Filling Station weekend in Oxford in May 2017 and it was from there that God confirmed that we should start one up.  So the Ouse Valley Filling Station starts in January 2018 at Garboldisham Village Hall!”

The meetings are on the second Friday of the month at 7.30pm with refreshments from 7.00pm. There will be no meetings in August or December.

The speaker at the Launch Night is Hellie Brunt, Filling Station Director for the South-West of England.  Hellie works as a speaker and trainer having previously worked as an Associate Pastor at Trinity Church Cheltenham.  The second Ouse Valley meeting on February 9 will welcome Richard Fothergill as speaker.

Stella said: “We would love you to join us at any monthly meeting”.
