Yarmouth Salvation Army return to Citadel
Great Yarmouth Salvation Army Citadel is celebrating the completion of nearly 10 months of extensive repairs to their building, allowing them to return to their home on Tolhouse Street. During the repair work, the Salvation Army’s church services and foodbank were temporarily hosted in a nearby Unitarian church. The Citadel will be formally reopening this week with a celebratory rededication meeting led by retired Majors Martin & Michelle Wheeler on Sunday, June 16. All are invited to attend the meeting at 10.30am, followed by a light lunch, and worship in the newly restored space.
Major Martin Wheeler expresses excitement for the return of church services and the foodbank to the Great Yarmouth Salvation Army Citadel, welcoming all to worship with them once again. The crisis foodbank and agency drop-in sessions will also resume at the site from Monday, June 17, taking place every Monday and Tuesday from 10am to 12 noon. The Salvation Army looks forward to continuing their important work in the community from their repaired and renewed building, with the support of their congregation and the wider community.
