Chile boss Eduardo Berizzo confirms Marcelino Nunez plans

Norwich City midfielder Marcelino Nunez is set to join the Chilean national team for their upcoming World Cup qualifiers against Peru and Venezuela. Nunez has been sidelined with an ankle injury since the last international break and hasn’t played for Norwich since returning. However, his international boss, Eduardo Berrizo, is hopeful that Nunez will be fully fit for the upcoming matches. Norwich manager David Wagner has agreed to release Nunez to join the national team in the hopes of giving him a psychological boost before their Championship return against Leeds.

Berizzo expressed confidence in Nunez’s fitness, stating that he has already recovered and just needs to regain some match fitness. Nunez hasn’t featured in a Championship game for Norwich since their victory over Huddersfield in August. He has also been absent from the matchday squad for over a month. Despite his lack of playing time, Berizzo believes that Nunez’s unique playing style allows him to quickly adapt and perform well on the field. Chile are looking to improve their qualification campaign after only earning one point in their first two matches.

Nunez previously featured in Chile’s defeat to Uruguay last month, where he sustained his ankle injury. He missed their subsequent draw against Colombia. After rejoining training with Norwich last week, Nunez is expected to be fit to face Leeds after the international break. Norwich will be hoping that he can make a significant impact in the team’s upcoming matches and help them improve their league position.

Overall, the release of Nunez to the Chilean national team is seen as a positive move for both the player and Norwich. It will allow Nunez to regain his match fitness and confidence before returning to club duties. Norwich will benefit from having a fully fit Nunez in their squad for the rest of the season. Both parties are eager for Nunez to make a strong comeback and contribute to the team’s success in the Championship.
